Print Club Torino internship project
Rich in practical advice on how to approach this technique, aspects important to print correctlyA two colours guide full of examples and information for those who love to design with Risograph.
● inside the guide
My internship started with a Skype call with Luisella, the Print Club Torino lab manager.
That was my first internship day and the day we began to work on Riso Guide.
Together we developed the guide realization from design to the binding.

My journey started with a lot of researches about the Risograph technique.
This part was the most important: it allowed us to create and improve the guide.

Creating the illustration and the texts was a long and accurate work achieved simultaneously.

The essential part of the project was a continuous workflow.
Create and review, adjust and update: we wanted to improve every time the guide.

Print preparation
When the guide is finished you need to realize the specific set up for the printer.
With the realization of the first prints, it is necessary to align the ink drum.
Printing and drying
All guides are hand bounded with care ☺️
The guide consist of 5 cross folded sheet ● 1 for the cover + 4 for the gatherings
I used a folding bone to fold each A3 sheet twice half to make the guide A5 sized
This is the first composed guide without cover
The cover/ inside poster must be folded too
After composing all the guides, it is time to put them in the press
These 50 copies are now ready to be sold ☺️

How I ended up in Print Club Torino
I chose the degree program in Design and Visual Communication at Turin Polytechnic, precisely the course that educates me to become a graphic and virtual designer.

The 'Graphic & Virtual Design' program deals with the traditional fields of visual communications. It is focused on the new forms and means of communication, on digital image processing and on the effects that technological innovation in this sector produces on human behavioural change, hence the guarantee of proactive and functional use of IT tools and hypermedia.

During the last academic year, there is mandatory training for the students.
It's an internship that allows students to carry out professional activities with strong professional content working in the field of design and visual communication.

This internship allows to verify and complete the theoretical and methodological teachings received during studies through an accurate comparison with the world of work and with professionals in the sector.
My internship: Print Club Torino
Print Club Torino is a creative lab of printing and graphic arts where you can experiment and share ideas, techniques, and processes.

Ancient techniques meet new digital technologies (engraving, screen printing, laser, inkjet, and risograph) to explore new expressive languages.

Thanks to its specialized staff, this lab offers to illustrators, designers, students, and enthusiasts the tools, materials, and spaces needed to shape ideas and projects.

The ideal place to develop publishing projects in small or medium runs, make prototypes and self-production or enhance its portfolio.

Here is also possible to get in touch with a community of companies and professionals graphics, design and illustration, technicians and craftsmen.
